Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to know how to dance salsa? No don't worry if you've never danced before there will be a lesson for beginners to learn the basics and after the lesson the DJ will play a mix of Latin music for you to dance to and practice your steps. So don't be shy, get on the dancefloor, dance with as many people as possible and just enjoy yourself.

What should I wear? Whatever you like! there is no dress code at salsa, just wear something comfortable, however shoes with a smooth sole are preferable so you can glide along the dancefloor.

Do I need a partner? No, plenty of people come without a partner and during the lesson the teacher will ensure you are paired up with someone, if there aren't enough men (usually the case!) partners are rotated frequently so that everyone gets a chance to dance. Ladies can dance with ladies too if one of you feels comfortable leading.

Can I ask someone to dance? Yes this is a must! The guys lov to be asked to dance by the girls and etiquette states that a man should never decline a request. This works both ways though girls!
